The Brief

 

This project was a competition brief from sky arts to create them a new concept sting to join with their current line of Sky Arts idents. The current range of idents represent various types of art and creative fields such as traditional art such as painting and sculpture along with performance art and comedy.

 

Rationale

 

One thing that was picked up on whilst looking at the current range of Sky Arts stings is that there is not really a strong representation for Graphic Design. Design is an important part of the creative world so it seemed appropriate to make a motion graphic that represented design. The concept for “CMYK” came about through the idea that every designer should know these colours. These colours are associated with printed material, such as magazines, books or newspapers.

 

Backstory

 

“This was one of my quickest projects in regards to technical output, the production of the whole animation took only a few days. This was done by making use of 3D cameras in after effects that looked at the same piece of animation from various angles to give the illusion of there being lots happening. However each piece of the ident still had to animated and tweaked individually.”
